I am an independent educational consultant who specializes in helping families arrive at educational solutions. I founded my day and boarding school advising practice in 2010 to help deserving students feel valued in their job as a student and help parents identify strong-fit school options for their child. 

As a trained counselor, I view the school search process as a unique opportunity to reexamine each child's individual academic and emotional growth needs. I am passionate about working with families in seeking schools that support a child's learning experience while appropriately preparing for future endeavors. Together, we will create a personalized roadmap to guide your child through the school search and admissions process. Our collaboration is a true partnership with the ultimate goal of smart-fit school options, recognizing that this is not a straight line process. 

My Background

I entered the field of education in 1994 and have worked in a variety of settings, including public and independent schools as well as the teacher recruitment and placement industry. My commitment to professional development fuels my love of learning, and I strive to remain a trusted resource for peers in my greater helping profession. 

I am a member of the Independent Educational Consultants Association (IECA), enjoying my three year term on the Schools Committee and remaining engaged with peers all over the world. Additionally, I value membership with Washington Independent Services for Educational Resources (WISER) to stay current with skilled professionals supporting families in the DC Metro Area for collaboration and on-going referrals. I am a graduate of Washington and Lee University with a BA in art history and an M.Ed in counselor education from the University of  Virginia. I grew up in Houston and Washington, DC, and attended the National Cathedral School and am a graduate of the Pomfret School in Connecticut.
